It’s fall, which means two things: (1) harvest time and (2) baseball playoffs. In podcast terms, there are some great new podcasts ready to be plucked up and consumed, and if you need any inspiration to get excited about baseball this October, you might find it from an unlikely source. Only Human: WNYC launched a new podcast last week that promises to look at how health shapes our lives. The … [Read more...]
Week in Review: Week of September 28, 2015
My podcast week in review for last week is a bit late, but sometimes real life takes precedence over things like scarcely-read, pet-project websites. That said, there were some interesting things happening in podcasting last week, so I wanted to get this posted, even if it is a little late and a little abbreviated. Probably the biggest news in podcasting last week was the return of one of the most … [Read more...]
Week in Review: Week of September 21, 2015
The big news from the world of podcasts last week had nothing to do with any actual audio produced but with leaks about the subject of Serial’s next season. The makers of Serial, like a new celebrity parent pleading for privacy from the paparazzi, responded with a statement neither confirming nor denying the report and asking fellow journalists to give them room while they work on their next … [Read more...]
Los Angeles Podcast Festival Day 3
Sometimes, being predictable can be good. That was the case at the 2015 LA Podfest as one of the best things that could be said about the many great shows performed from Friday night to Sunday night was that they lived up to their own standards. Performing podcasts that are often recorded in studios or homes in front of large audiences in hotel ballrooms could understandably change a podcaster’s … [Read more...]

I was able to attend four shows that had me laughing throughout the day. My Brother, My Brother and … [Read more...]

Week in Review: Week of September 7, 2015
Last week’s podcast highlights included a fake contract negotiation, a punk-band drummer turned comedian, high school seniors sweating out the college admissions process, and a man who’s been confined to the grounds of an embassy for the last three years. It’s a grab bag of random podcast goodness in the Week in Review. Hollywood Handbook: Hosts Shawn Clements and Hayes Davenport celebrated … [Read more...]
