Slack, the fast-growing company known for its all-in-one team communications platform, has gone from podcast advertiser to podcast producer. The company released the first full episode of its new podcast, The Slack Variety Pack, on Monday with the help of Pacific Content, a Canada-based podcast production company. Slack describes the podcast on its blog as follows:
The Slack Variety Pack is a mix of original stories, funny office culture sketches, and journalism focused on innovation, modern culture, and people who have found their purpose.
The features on the first episode of the new podcast include a look at quantum computing, a true story about an office fist-fight, a quick interview with B.J. Novak recorded at a hockey game, and an interview with a school teacher from Canada who is on the short list of people being considered for the Mars One expedition.
New episodes of the podcast will be released every other week, with the next episode promising a story on the invention of podcasts and an interview with a scientist who can turn a bag of potato chips into a microphone.
